Hi folks, here, we inform you about the start and content of Signatu’s Cookie Banner Pilot.

Purpose

The purpose of Signatu’s Cookie Banner Pilot is:

  1. to learn the European and Norwegian legal requirements for content and design of Cookie Banner. The text is delivered in English language.
  2. learn how to combine Trackerdetect and Data Processing Specification to specify the content of the Cookie Banner.
  3. gain knowledge of the designer's assessment of the Cookie Banner's design.
  4. criticize the design.
  5. as an end goal to make it possible to maintain good Cookie Banners with minimal effort. Through the pilot, we ensure that both legal and UX requirements are covered in the best possible way.

We send the legal assessment about the requirements for information and design in the cookie banner.

We ask pilot participants to inform Signatu about their needs, wants, and “purposes” for having and using a cookie banner (to be delivered to Signatu within Monday, January 13) to know which features are critical to certain pilot participants to in turn adjust the design of the cookie banner upfront of the dialogue with the designer.

Pilot participants who are not already Signatu customers are granted access to the Signatu platform and can use Trackerdetect to automatically detect cookies and 3rd party resources on their own web pages which are later included in the cookie banner.

Signatu holds the first web meeting with the pilot participants on the design of the cookie banner. Dates for the next online meetings are agreed upon during the first online meeting. Up to 4 online meetings will be held.

Signatu will host a webinar on how Signatu Data Processing Specification tool can be used in combination with Trackerdetect to specify the textual content of the cookie banner.

Use of the cookie banner

Completely designed cookie banner will be part of Signatu Consent Solution. Signatu Consent Solution consists of:

  1. Signatu API to register consent events.
  2. Signatu Data Processing Specification to specify the content of consent requests in combination with Trackerdetect.
  3. Completely designed dialogs, including the cookie banner, used to present end-user consent requests and selections.

Business model after the pilot

Signatu customers will be able to use the cookie banner for cookie consent according to the customer's license. There is no additional charge for using the cookie banner itself. Customers are, of course, free to write their own consent requests, design their own cookie banner and choose another cookie consent provider.

Cost

The price for participating in the Cookie Banner Pilot is NOK 25,000 (excl. VAT). The fee is used to cover costs for UX designer and legal documentation.
